WHAT TO DO IN KOPER?

Koper is the cultural and industrial center of the Slovenian coast. The city has preserved many artistic monuments from the Romanesque and Gothic periods, as well as from later times. Of particular interest are the palaces of wealthy Koper families, built by excellent architects. In the Middle Ages, the city was walled, and 12 gates led into it, of which only the “Muda” gate on Prešeren Square has survived.

Koper has a modernly arranged Regional Museum, a library, a theater and a number of other cultural institutions. Many events and concerts are organized in the city throughout the year. The city offers a variety of sports activities in water and on land. From Koper, paths lead us to other towns along the Slovenian coast and also to villages in the hinterland, where we can enjoy beautiful views, Istrian stone architecture, as well as a glass of homemade wine and prosciutto.
